Ancient Ostia

Four hours tour in the archeological area of the ancient Ostia, approximately 25 kilometres away from Rome, where the ancient 2nd and 3rd century a.D imperial port and trading area was. The visit starts with the necropolis, outside the gates of the town, then thru the Roman Gate over the Decumanus Maximus and the Baths of Neptuns, the Republicans Horrea (warehouses to preserve grain and food), the Theatre and the square of the Corporazioni, behind the theathre with beautiful pavement mosaics with scenes of trade activity, which was used for relax and walks. Then the Forum , the Capitolium, the Basilica, the Thermopolium (a roman inn), the public toilets, and public and private buildings and houses, finally return to Rome.
